It's friggin' cold. Early January
Devices like the LungPlus here can make a big difference to cold weather activities

I guess we were spoilt with the incredibly mild Winter to end 2023, so now we pay the price. It's probably been the coldest spell I've had the misfortune to witness over the last 2 decades plus in Canada. This has made training a bit of a challenge, but the treadmill, a Zwift subscription and well kitted out gym in the Reed basement made things manageable. That, and a fairly relaxed attitude. There is huge value in just slowing down, training less, resting more, lifting weights instead of running, and walking dogs. I think it's way too easy to stress about stuff that doesn't matter in the greater scheme....after all, what's 2 weeks of slightly reduced training volume going to do to the fitness in the greater scheme....almost certainly, very little.

JAN 1- 7 ...... 54km (not a lot of vert) - one stellar 4 x 5km MP workout, before it got really cold
Jan 8 -14 ...... 66.5km (2400m climbing) - 4500ft on the treadmill in one session
Dirtbags - kinda chilly
Zone 2 running on the TM
