DBR workout for May 25, 2023: "THE 10/10/10"
Tomorrow, come on up to the Nordic Center a bit before 6PM if you want to try out some cushy new Hoka shoes! We have a fleet of Speedgoats and Challengers (both great trail shoes) for you to try. Liv from Hoka will be there to get you fitted.
As we are approaching trail running season, which we all know is way too short, it's important to get used to running on tired legs, especially if you have some big back to back mountain adventures planned, so I devised this workout, which I think will do the trick
The goal is to induce some fatigue in the legs with some shorter quicker efforts to start, then do one longer tempo style effort to finish.
By the end I think you'll be ready to stop, or at least head down to the pub for a brew.
I'm calling this one the "10/10/10"
So we'll do a 10 minute warm up with a few strides to start
Then the main event will be.....
10 x (1 min hard/1 min easy)
10 x (30s hard/30s easy)
We'll jog easy for about 2 mins, regroup then finish with a 10 minute moderate tempo effort
We'll do the whole thing on the forebay.
Remember to show up early if you want to try some Hokas (we'll be there from about 5:30PM) - dirt lot nearest the road on your left (usual spot)!
