The Soggy Dirtbag Fartlek! July 18, 2024

Dirtbags! Well I am back from my jaunt around the San Juan's and whilst I may not be very quick tomorrow, I wouldn't miss it for the world!

It's looking like another scorcher, and staying cool will be a priority, so here's what I propose!

Let's meet 6PM at the Nordic centre - usual spot - dirt lot nearest the highway, if you're new to the group.

IMPORTANT: Bring some shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting wet!

After a short warm up we'll do 1 minute on/1 minute off out to the Grassi Lakes parking lot area. We'll take a quick dip there, then do 1 minute on/1 minute off back to the bay opposite CNC.

We'll cool off again, then - yes - you guessed it - 1 minute on/1 minute off out along the forebay x 5 (take a dip) and repeat.

If you've got some racing coming up, staying cool and wet will be key, and it's good to practice running in wet shoes (trust me on that one!! - Hardrock has 82 creek crossings!)

We'll go for around 45 - 50 minutes total, finish with one last dip, then head back to find some dry clothes/shoes and a cold beer!
