OK Dirtbags, well with Park to Pints on the horizon, it's time to get a little serious, and get ourselves into shape! Over the next few weeks I am planning to do a 10km workout progression to get you all ready for the Oct 4 race. And even if you aren't racing, these longer threshold efforts will be guaranteed to elevate your performance!

So workout #1 is going to be mile repeats - YES - that's 1.6km for each effort, and the goal is to run these repeats at your approximate 10km pace.

So tomorrow we will start with 6 x 1 mile - yes, that's 10km of effort, but split into manageable chunks. We'll take 3 mins rest between each effort.

The forebay will be perfect! So let's meet under the big Canada flag at the Nordic centre, then we'll jog on over to the forebay for the workout.

We'll run a mile, rest x 3 mins, repeat x 6

Mike Norton will be serving beer and pizza at Bill Warren afterwards, he assures me, and this one will most definitely generate a thirst!
