BEER MILE QUESTIONS ANSWERED

BEER MILE QUESTIONS ANSWERED

A few questions have been coming in re: beer/wine selection criteria, and whether those racing need to supply their own.

Racing beverages must be supplied by racers. The provided kegs are for the after party, and are free - might be an idea to bring a mug.

BEER: beer must be a minimum of 5% alcohol. No hard ciders or lemonades. It must be beer. Beer is defined as a fermented alcoholic beverage brewed from malted cereal grains and flavored with hops.

Cans or bottles - your choice. Minimum volume 355mls (12 oz). Lots of bottles do not meet these criteria - be sure to check. Your beer (and you!) will be disqualified if you don't meet these criteria.

No special cans eg wide mouth. No straws, aids or shotgunning. If using bottles consider running with a bottle opener. Each beer is opened immediately before consumption. You cannot open beers ahead of time.

WINE: supply your own. Wine must be a minimum of 11% alcohol. You will drink 4 x 5oz glasses during the race. Wine can be red/white/rose/fizzy, so long as it is 11% minimum. We will have plastic glasses on hand for wine milers to use.

Wine can be pre-poured into the provided glasses. Glasses will be marked with 5oz lines.

NA beer - if enough people are interested, we will do an NA Beer mile - this may run alongside one of the other races depending on numbers.
