A reminder for all Bow Valley Dirtbag Runners!

THE RACE OF THE YEAR IS NEARLY UPON US!

The 9th Annual Dirtbag Runners Bow Valley Beer Mile will once again be taking place at Tom/Heather's - JUNE 26. I cannot begin to thank Tom and Heather enough for their eternal generosity, fun loving nature, and all around stoke for this event! Thank you so much once again!

The course is definitely running fast this year, and we expect some fast times. Super shoes, high carb fueling (200g per lap), gut training, extreme heat exposure, hypoxic tents and, well, anything David Roche promotes - (hello human breast milk) - is on the cards! Word has it that these cutting edge techniques will be essential for the coveted win!

Previous champions have yet to be confirmed. Will we see a change in the old guard? Past legends like Lukeman, Lindemulder, Stukator, Pye, Reed, Halleran and Evans may be getting a bit long in the tooth, but youth does not always trump experience! These folks know how to pace and know how to win!

A reminder that if you are planning on racing prior attendance at either Dirtbags or Trail Culture this year is mandatory! No ringers please! You still have a couple of weeks left to secure your spot.

Spectators are welcome! Come and heckle - it’s quite the spectacle (though racing is way more fun) and we have a great after party!

We will have a lot of free refreshments courtesy of local breweries! Thanks so much to all the local brewers who donate!

For the racers we will have great prizing once again. Thank you to our sponsors! We have multiple race entries, shoes, running apparel, plus more great prizes to be revealed race day! Next level prizing sets this race apart!

Prizes will be awarded to winners in each category (M/F wine mile, M/F Beer mile, and this year - a new event - the beer mile relay. The relay may sound like a cop out, but remember, to finish a beer mile, every competitor must run a mile and finish 4 drinks!

And of course we'll have the Drunken Dash and prizing for best costume! Fancy dress is highly recommended and really adds to the fun atmosphere!

Things will get going around 6pm June 26, with rules, warm up, course familiarization and checking for illegal beers/wines.

It is highly recommended to arrive on foot or bike as parking may be an issue at Rundleview.I'll post some more information in the next couple of weeks.

POTENTIAL SPONSORS - please contact me directly if you would like to donate a prize - we appreciate pretty much anything!
